This is a space where drums are made, met, and shared slowly.

Whether through a finished drum, a beater, or the process of making one together in small-group and private drum-making workshops, the work here is guided by relationship — with materials, with sound, and with time.

Nothing here is rushed into being, or separated from the hands that shape it.

Each piece and each process carries its own rhythm, and finds its keeper in its own way.

Drum-making sessions and Drum Doula training are held in person in Coomba Park on the NSW Mid North Coast.

Questions That Often Arise

  • No prior experience is needed for drum-making sessions. Beginners work with ethically sourced kangaroo hide, which is responsive, forgiving, and well suited to learning the lacing process steadily.

  • For beginners, I work exclusively with kangaroo hide. In Drum Doula training, we may also work with deer or goat hide depending on availability and suitability. Each hide behaves differently and is approached with care.

  • Drum-making sessions and Drum Doula training are held in person in my Coomba Park studio on the NSW Mid North Coast. Small group and private formats are offered throughout the year.

  • Most drum-making sessions run as a full-day experience, allowing time for soaking, lacing, resting, and integration without rushing the process.

  • Drum Doula training is for those who have already made a drum with me and wish to learn how to hold space for others during the drum-making process. The focus is on facilitation, pacing, and ethical responsibility — not just technique.

  • It is a practice-based training grounded in integrity and relational awareness. It is not a commercial accreditation or franchise model.

  • Yes. Finished frame drums are sometimes available for purchase and can be shipped Australia-wide, with postage included.
