This drum will be handmade by me using this kangaroo hide, naturally dyed with whole dried cochineal beetles, and stretched over a hand-crafted 14” paulownia timber frame made by a fellow artisan whose work I deeply respect.
Please note these photos show the hide in its dried, unstretched state. Once tensioned over the frame the colour deepens and evens, and the surface smooths considerably — as you can see in photos of my finished drums.
Inside-out lacing is available on request.
